The center of Geilo is surrounded by 20 lifts and 46 alpine trails from children’s areas to terrain parks and black slopes. You can use the same ski pass in all lifts. The ski bus takes you easily from one side of the valley to the other so that all slopes are easily accessible. In all base areas you will find slopes suitable for children and beginners, these are also connected to larger slopes and ski lifts. Geilo has two ski schools that help you with skiing and technique. In all base areas, you can also hire modern and newly prepared skis for all levels.

Geilo and Hol Municipality are among the best areas in Norway for cross-country skiing and have more than 500 kilometers of groomed trails both in the valleys and on the mountain plateaus. Several of the cross-country trails are linked to DNT's marked trails on Hardangervidda and in Skarvheimen. In addition, there are light trails all around the municipality; Hovet, Hagafoss/Hol, Geilo and Dagali. The beautiful cross-country trails are free to use and there is a wide range of levels on the trails - everything from short, flat areas for beginners, to more challenging trails along the mountain tops.

Geilo Husky offers dog teams with professional dog handlers and starts at Vestlia, this includes a bonfire and hot drink. You also always get the opportunity to drive the dog team all by yourself! Here, tours of 5 or 10 km are offered.
Langedrag Nature Park is located between Numedal and Hallingdal and only a short hour’s drive from Geilo. In the park you can discover over 300 animals from around 20 species. Geilo Horse Center offers regular sleigh rides from agreed places. A sleigh ride lasts approx. 45 minutes. In the carriage, you get a warm blanket with leather over you, and then you can enjoy the winter evening with bells, the sound of torches and neighing horses.
Fatbikes are regular bikes, but have wider rims and larger tires that allow you to ride on snow. You can rent fatbikes if you want to try it yourself or with friends. Fatbikes are collected and delivered at Vestlia Resort.
